Broadcaster and writer Kent Anderson grew up in Madill, Oklahoma, where he began his radio career at age 15.  He first came to KCSC as a student at Central State University (now the University of Central Oklahoma) in 1981.  After graduation in 1986, he did graduate work at Indiana University and worked for a radio station in Columbia, Missouri before returning to Oklahoma City.

Kent worked at commercial stations KTNT and WKY before returning to public radio with KCSC in 1991, where he stayed until 2005, working as program director, hosting a daily classical music shift, and producing weekend "eclectic" music programming.

Under the pseudonym David Kent, he is the author of four suspense novels: Department Thirty, The Mesa Conspiracy, The Blackjack Conspiracy (which won the Oklahoma Book Award for Fiction in 2006), and The Triangle Conspiracy.

He spent most of 2006 working in marketing for the Oklahoma City Philharmonic, and now works as a features writer for the Southwestern Publishing magazine group, does music programming on a contract basis for KCSC, and produces Different Roads

He was one of the original founding board members of All Children Together, Inc., a summer day camp for special needs children and their siblings.  He coaches youth soccer and baseball through Wilson Elementary School and the OKC Parks & Recreation Department, and for 33 years has been a die-hard and long-suffering fan of Major League Baseball's Texas Rangers.  Kent is an advocate for mental health services, and as the father of an autistic child, advocates for awareness and research on this developmental disability.  He is a political junkie and history buff.  His historical events/periods of interest: the American Civil War, American Presidential history, Tudor-era England, and "The Troubles" in The Six Counties of Northern Ireland.  And of course, he does what he can to support and promote the acoustic music community in Oklahoma.

He has three sons, and lives in Oklahoma City.
