Different Roads
An eclectic acoustic radio mix of folk, traditional, classical, new age and world music, broadcast on 90.1 KCSC, Edmond/Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Saturdays 5-7 p.m. CT.
Music takes us many places, and to our great benefit, a lot of them are not on the well-beaten path. This music allows us to step off the expressway, with its commercialized and synthesized homogenization, and lets us travel at a different pace. We can peer down gravel roads and driveways and places where there's almost no road at all, and we can see and hear for ourselves what's there. You won't hear this combination of music on your local corporate commercial station: from solitary singer-songwriters to symphony orchestras, from bluegrass to blues, Celtic to Nordic to African, and the splendid impressionism of acoustic new age. And then there are those that blur genre lines, that defy description altogether. Hear sounds that are at once traditional and contemporary, folk and art...hear how this music flows together. Take two hours on a Saturday and travel down these Different Roads.
